On September 9th, 2025, the International Centre for Environmental Health and Development (ICEHD) participated in the North-Central Zonal Consultative Forum for the Review of the National Gender Policy in Agriculture and the Development of its Strategic Plan of Action (2025–2030). The forum was convened by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS), in partnership with AGRA, CARE, ActionAid, and other stakeholders, at Tazu Luxury Hotel & Suites, Lafia, Nasarawa State.

The consultation highlighted the policy’s historical journey, from its initial draft in 2014, validation in 2016, and launch in 2019, to the 2025 review process that aligns the revised policy with NATIP, CAADP, ECOWAP, AU Agenda 2063, and the UN SDGs.

This engagement reinforces ICEHD’s commitment to empowering rural women farmers, promoting climate-smart solutions, and advancing inclusive agricultural transformation in Nigeria.
